The KGF series has left an indelible mark on the industry, establishing Kannada films on a national scale. Superstar Yash has emerged as a pan-India star, while director Prashanth Neel has become one of the most sought-after filmmakers in the country. Released on April 14, 2022, KGF Chapter 2 set box office records both in India and abroad. Additionally, the movie hinted at the possibility of a third installment, raising anticipation among fans.

For years, rumors have circulated about 'KGF Chapter 3'. Both Yash and Prashanth Neel have hinted that the saga may continue. Three years ago, the production house Hombale Films released a teaser video asking, “Where was Rocky Bhai from 1978 to 1981?” The clip, which went viral online, suggested that Rocky Bhai’s story during those years could be explored in the third chapter. This has further fueled speculation about the next installment, although no official updates followed for a long time.

Now, it seems director Prashanth Neel is gearing up for KGF Chapter 3. On Wednesday, he shared a poster on Instagram, which quickly caught the attention of fans. According to Neel’s post, the final draft of KGF Chapter 3 is ready.

Around a year ago, Vijay Kiragandur, founder of Hombale Films, had hinted that KGF 3 might release in a few months. However, no concrete announcements were made after that. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel, Yash, and producer Vijay Kiragandur have been engaged with other film projects.

Currently, Neel is busy directing NTR’s Dragon and is slated to collaborate with Prabhas on Salaar Part 2. KGF Chapter 3 is expected to begin production only after 2027, with a tentative release planned for December 28, 2028, as per social media speculation.

At the same time, discussions have emerged about the authenticity of Neel’s Instagram post. Some speculate it could have been shared via a parody account rather than officially. The film has not yet been formally announced, leading to debates that the news circulating online may be false. Certain posts even feature misleading accounts using Prashanth Neel’s photo and name to suggest updates about KGF 3.
