Kiran Bedi Counters Chiranjeevi's Legacy Comments:'Daughters Are Heirs Too'

He expressed his desire to have a grandson to carry forward his legacy. His statement led to online trolling and criticism. Former IPS officer Kiran Bedi has now responded to Chiranjeevi’s remarks, emphasizing that daughters are also heirs and should be acknowledged equally.

Kiran Bedi shared a post on X (formerly Twitter), addressing Chiranjeevi. She urged him to recognize that daughters are also rightful heirs and are in no way lesser. She emphasized that it all depends on how daughters are raised and how they grow. She advised learning from parents who nurture their daughters well, stating that daughters, when given the right opportunities, make families proud. She concluded by saying that many have already proven that daughters are no less than sons in any aspect. Her tweet has since gone viral.

The film Brahma Anandam, starring Brahmanandam and Raja Gautham, was released on February 14. Two days before its release, a grand pre-release event was held in Hyderabad, where Chiranjeevi made his remarks. He shared that at home, he doesn’t feel surrounded by his granddaughters but rather feels like a ladies’ hostel warden. He jokingly urged his son Ram Charan to have a son, expressing concern that if Charan has another daughter, his wish for a grandson to continue his legacy might remain unfulfilled.
