Kodava Community Stands in Support of Rashmika Mandanna
The Kodava National Council (CNC), an organization for the protection of Kodava rights, has expressed serious concern over actress Rashmika Mandanna’s security. Amid ongoing political controversies, the CNC has urged the Union and Karnataka Home Ministers to provide her with protection. Rashmika, who hails from the Kodava community in Karnataka, is originally from the Kodagu region. The CNC alleged that she was unfairly targeted due to her Kodava heritage, especially after Congress MLA Ravi Ganiga made harsh remarks against her.
CNC President Nandineravanda Nachappa stated in his complaint that Rashmika has earned fame through hard work and talent but is being unnecessarily dragged into political discussions. He accused certain individuals of mentally harassing her and claimed that politicians were troubling her despite her having no connection to politics. He also criticized people who lack an understanding of artistic freedom and are unjustly targeting her.
Congress MLA Ravi Kumar Ganiga from Mandya, Karnataka, accused Rashmika of neglecting the Kannada film industry and refusing to attend the Bengaluru International Film Festival. He pointed out that she debuted in the Kannada film industry with Kirik Party in 2016 but now avoids visiting Karnataka despite multiple invitations. He alleged that when invited to an event, she asked, “Where is Karnataka?” and insisted that she needs to be taught a lesson. Following these remarks, Nachappa demanded immediate security for Rashmika. So far, Rashmika has not responded to the controversy, but her fans have shown strong support for her on social media.
