Kollywood: Producers vs Actors, Potential Shooting Shutdown After August 15
Producers vs. Actors, Potential Shooting Shutdown After August 15

In recent days, the dynamics in Kollywood have shifted significantly. The tension between the Nadigara Sangam (Actors' Association) and the Producers Council has reached a boiling point. Reports indicate that shooting in the industry might come to a halt indefinitely from August 15.
The conflict arose when the Producers Council decided to impose stricter rules on superstar Dhanush. They accused him of accepting advances from producers but failing to participate in the necessary shooting schedules. A notice was sent to Dhanush, demanding that he complete the projects for which he had received advances before engaging in any new films. The council issued a similar notice to actor Vishal.
In response, the Nadigara Sangam, led by senior actor Nasser, has thrown its support behind Dhanush, calling for the immediate withdrawal of these sanctions. The association argues that these measures are unfair and detrimental to the actors.
The Producers Council has warned that if the actors do not return the advances or comply with the new rules, all shooting activities will be suspended indefinitely from August 15. This directive applies to all actors, not just the leading heroes.
The situation remains tense, and the industry is on the brink of a significant shutdown unless a resolution is reached soon.
