Krithi Shetty Shifts Gears: From Tollywood Flops to Big Malayalam and Tamil Projects

Krithi Shetty made her debut in the film industry with Uppena, where she instantly captivated audiences with her beauty. Following that, she delivered consecutive hits like Shyam Singha Roy and Bangarraju, quickly gaining star status. However, her career took an unexpected turn afterward. Films such as Macherla Niyojakavargam, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali, and Manamey turned out to be flops, leading to a decline in her opportunities within Telugu cinema.

Currently, Krithi is exploring new paths. She has entered the Malayalam industry with Just for Change and is also shifting her focus towards Kollywood. However, her Tamil debut has faced delays. Her film with Karthi, Vaa Vaathiyar, was scheduled for an earlier release but got postponed. In addition, she is working on another Tamil project titled Jeeni.

As per recent reports, Krithi has bagged another exciting and high-profile project. She is set to play the female lead in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Khalifa. Though the film was initially announced in 2022, it got delayed due to Prithviraj’s prior commitments. The shoot is now expected to commence in July, with schedules planned across India, the UK, Dubai, and Nepal.

Looking at her current lineup, one might wonder if Krithi is gradually moving away from Tollywood. What her next step will be depends on the reception of her upcoming films.
