Mangalavaaram Sequel in the Works Sreeleela to Lead?

Director Ajay Bhupathi, who made a sensational debut with RX 100, surprised the industry with its unexpected success, turning actor Karthikeya into a star. However, his next film, Maha Samudram, was a failure. After a long gap, he returned with Mangalavaaram, featuring his lucky heroine Payal Rajput and actor Priyadarshi in a lead role. The film performed well at the box office and received a positive response.

Ajay Bhupathi has already announced a sequel to Mangalavaaram, which is currently in the pre-production stage. Reports suggest that the director is considering actress Sreeleela for the lead role. Social media is abuzz with these speculations, stating that the female lead in the sequel will once again portray a rural girl. However, the official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.

The first part of Mangalavaaram revolved around a mysterious series of murders happening in a village every Tuesday, where illicit couples were brutally killed. An unknown person would expose these couples by writing about them on walls before killing them. A lady SI takes charge to solve the mystery, but the villagers do not cooperate. In the process, a young boy is caught writing on a wall and is arrested. However, post-mortem reports reveal that he is not the murderer, raising questions about who is behind the killings and their true motive.
