Veteran actor Mohan Babu, accused of assaulting TV9 journalist Muppidi Ranjith Kumar during a family dispute, visited the journalist at a Hyderabad hospital to personally apologize. The incident occurred on December 10 at Babu’s Jalpally residence, where the journalist suffered serious injuries, including fractures to his zygomatic bone.

Mohan Babu expressed his regret, apologizing to Kumar, his family, and the journalist community. He explained the altercation occurred amid a chaotic situation involving 30-50 “anti-social elements” at his home. Babu acknowledged his loss of composure and deeply regretted the incident.

Following the assault, which prompted protests from journalist associations, Babu issued a formal public apology on December 13. Hyderabad police have registered a case against him under Section 109 (attempt to murder), and the investigation is ongoing.
