The 1989 classic Shiva, starring Nagarjuna alongside Amala and Raghuvaran under Ram Gopal Varma’s direction, will return to theatres in a 4K remaster with Dolby Atmos, with its teaser premiering alongside Coolie on August 14.

Calling it the film that made him an “iconic hero,” Nagarjuna said he wanted to present it to both loyal fans and a new generation. Varma noted the sound has been entirely redone using AI, upgrading the original mono mix to Dolby Atmos for an unprecedented viewing experience.

The film, later remade in Hindi in 1990, was a box office hit, featured at IFFI, and won three Nandi Awards, including Best Director for Varma.
