Pushpa 2: Court Challenges Ticket Price Hike
Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 is set to hit the screens in just a few hours. With the huge success of the first Pushpa movie released three years ago, there are massive expectations surrounding this sequel. The governments of both Telugu states have provided an opportunity to increase ticket prices for Pushpa 2 and for the premiere shows as well. Recently, cases have been filed regarding this issue.
A petition has been filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court challenging this issue. The petitioner argued that premier shows should not be allowed and that the exorbitant ticket prices violate the rules. The petition also stated that, according to the government order, only five shows per day should be allowed, but six shows have been approved. The petitioner has requested an Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation, alleging that producers are claiming the movie's production cost was under 100 crores.
After listening to both parties, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has postponed its decision. The court advised the petitioner not to attend premier shows if the ticket prices are too high and instructed the government to adhere to the rules when deciding how long they should permit price hikes for tickets.
