PVR Inox Launches FLEXI Show Model with Refunds for Midway Movie Exits
In the digital age, the way people watch movies has completely changed. People now watch movies and web shows on their mobile phones, making OTT viewing easy with smartphones. In this scenario, fewer people are going to theaters to watch movies. Even if something special like Pushparaj's range is expected, tickets are not selling easily through Book My Show and other online portals.
Multiplexes in India have already implemented a "Cinema Pass" system similar to the one in the USA. To increase movie viewership in a month and bring people back to theaters, multiplexes are offering bulk booking and free tickets. Prominent multiplexes are continuously experimenting with such innovative methods to attract viewers.
PVR Inox has announced a new viewing model called "FLEXI Show" to meet the changing needs of the audience. If a viewer leaves a show midway, the model will refund a part of the ticket price based on the viewing percentage. If more than 75% of the movie is remaining, 60% of the ticket price will be refunded. If 50-75% of the movie is left, 50% will be refunded, and if 25-50% remains, 30% will be refunded. This model is currently being tested in 40 theaters in New Delhi and Gurgaon, with plans to expand nationwide. Advanced cameras and AI systems will be used to monitor how much of the show the viewer has watched. PVR is adopting this flexible viewing model to cater to the changing lifestyles of the public, recognizing that their time is valuable.
