The trend of biopics continues across all film industries, including Bollywood, Tollywood, and Kollywood. Filmmakers are eager to bring the inspiring life stories of prominent personalities to the big screen. Actor R. Madhavan, who previously directed and starred in the Tamil biopic Rocketry: The Nambi Effect in 2022, achieved great success with the film. Based on the life of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan, the movie won several awards, including a National Award. Madhavan received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of the scientist.

Last year, Madhavan announced his collaboration with director Krishna Kumar Ramakumar for a biopic on engineering specialist and innovator GD Naidu. The film has already begun its international schedule, and a new schedule will commence next week in Coimbatore, Naidu’s birthplace. Produced under Maddy’s banner along with Rocketry producer Varghese Moolan, the project is a joint venture between Moolan Pictures and Tricolor Films. Producer Vijay Moolan expressed his excitement about making another biopic under this banner.

The makers believe GD Naidu’s life is truly inspiring, emphasizing his strong beliefs, unwavering determination, and patriotism. Known as the “Edison of India,” he was firmly against corruption and remained steadfast in his principles. The filmmakers feel R. Madhavan is the perfect choice to portray him on screen. The film’s technical team, which worked on Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, is also involved in this project. Produced by R. Madhavan and Sarita Madhavan under the Tricolor Pictures banner, along with Vijay Moolan, the movie will have Aravind Kamalanathan as its cinematographer and creative producer. The official title of the biopic will be revealed on February 18, with further details to be announced soon.
