Veteran actor Mukul Dev has sadly passed away after battling a prolonged illness, confirming reports of his deteriorating health. His brother Rahul Dev dismissed rumors linking the death to depression, stating it was caused by poor eating habits. Mukul spent more than a week in the ICU, having stopped eating completely as his health deteriorated.

Rahul shared that Mukul suffered from loneliness after personal losses, including the deaths of their parents and a divorce. Despite getting film offers, he chose isolation. Rahul urged people not to believe false reports.

Mukul Dev made his acting debut in 1996, earning early recognition with roles in the films Mumkin and Dastak.  He became popular in Telugu films like Krishna. Rahul Dev also gained fame with strong roles in films like Simhadri and Mass.
