The Raja Saab Team Confirms There Will Be No Delay; Director Maruthi Hints at New Making-Series Rollout

The creators of The Raja Saab have once again emphasized that the film’s release date will not be pushed back under any circumstances. Director Maruthi has now welcomed viewers into the universe of The Raja Saab and revealed that a special behind-the-scenes series will be launched soon.

The makers remain firm that the Prabhas-starrer will arrive in theatres on January 9, exactly as planned. Industry sources suggest that the delays affecting other upcoming films—such as Akhanda 2, Vaa Vathiyar (known in Telugu as Annagaru Vazha), and Lockdown, all previously slated for December 12—stem from financial hurdles. Notably, major production houses like 14 Reels Entertainment, Studio Green, and Lyca Productions are involved in those projects, and their unexpected postponements have created uncertainty among distributors and buyers.

However, TG Vishwa Prasad, who heads People Media Factory (the studio behind The Raja Saab), recently hinted that the company’s financial dealings will not in any way obstruct the timely release of the film. He also mentioned that the public will receive encouraging news from the team within the next 30 days.

Meanwhile, director Maruthi has intensified promotional efforts. On Friday, he unveiled a new video introducing audiences to the world of The Raja Saab. He is set to share exciting insights about the film’s cast, crew, and production process, including key highlights related to VFX work. According to insiders, these making-of features will be released as a series to build anticipation leading up to the premiere. Plans are also underway for multiple interviews featuring the film’s team.

As The Raja Saab is positioned to be the first major release of the upcoming Sankranthi season, a smooth launch would boost confidence across the industry. For that reason, the producers appear to be taking every necessary step to ensure the release happens on schedule, alongside a strong promotional campaign.
