Raja Saab Movie Review Talk: Mixed Response, OTT Rights Deal and Streaming Update
Prabhas starrer Raja Saab sees mixed audience talk after release. Here are the OTT platform details, expected streaming date, story highlights and sequel update.

Prabhas starrer Raja Saab has finally arrived in cinemas, putting an end to months of excitement among fans. While opinions about the film remain divided, social media is currently flooded with mixed responses. By the close of the weekend, a clearer verdict from audiences has started to emerge. Meanwhile, curiosity around the film’s OTT release has grown stronger.
Several months before Raja Saab hit the big screens, Jio Hotstar reportedly secured its digital streaming rights. Sources say the platform acquired the rights for all language versions at a massive price of Rs 160 crore. Discussions regarding this agreement are said to have continued for nearly four weeks. The South Indian language versions are expected to premiere on OTT in the first week of February, while the Hindi version is likely to be released a bit later.
Coming to the storyline of Raja Saab, the Devanagara region is ruled by zamindar Ganga Devi, played by Zarina Wahab. Due to certain circumstances, her grandson lives separately with Raju, portrayed by Prabhas. Though Ganga Devi suffers from memory loss, she never forgets her husband Kanakaraju, played by Sanjay Dutt. In her dreams, she urges her grandson to search for his grandfather. This journey leads Raju to the Rajmahal located deep inside the Narsapur forest.
The story unfolds around how Raja Saheb comes face to face with Kanakaraju, a man well versed in mystical knowledge. It also explores the connections between Bhairavi (Malavika), Bessie (Nidhi Agerwal), and Anit (Riddhi Kumar), and how Raja Saab is linked to the three women. These elements form the rest of the narrative.
The makers have also officially confirmed that Raja Saab will have a sequel, titled Raja Saab Circus 1935. Meanwhile, viewers noticed that Prabhas’s elderly character look and a fight sequence featured in promotional material were removed from the final cut of the film. Whether these scenes were intentionally excluded or saved for the sequel remains an unanswered question.
