Ram Gopal Varma Faces Imminent Arrest After Failing to Attend Police Inquiry

Film director Ram Gopal Varma is preparing for his arrest. He was supposed to appear for questioning at the Ongole Rural Police Station today, but since he failed to show up, the police are ready to take serious action. In this context, it is being reported that preparations are underway for his arrest. Ongole police have gone to his residence in Hyderabad, and it seems likely that he will be arrested soon and taken to the Maddipadu PS.

During the promotion of his film "Syeham," Ram Gopal Varma posted comments on social media that insulted the personal characters of TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Janasena president Pawan Kalyan. After the NDA coalition government came to power in Andhra Pradesh, Ramalingayya, the TDP General Secretary of Maddipadu Mandal, filed a complaint with the police about these posts. The police registered a case and issued notices to Ram Gopal Varma to appear for questioning.

However, Ram Gopal Varma did not attend the inquiry and sought protection from the police arrest through the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The court rejected his plea, stating that they could not provide him with protection from arrest. On the 19th of this month, Ram Gopal Varma had informed the Ongole police that he needed four more days to attend the inquiry. Despite this, he did not show up by the deadline, and the police issued another notice to him. Today, he was supposed to appear at the Ongole Rural Police Station for questioning, but since he failed to do so, the Ongole police have now gone to his residence in Hyderabad, and it seems that they might arrest him at any moment.
