Rashmika Mandanna Faces Backlash From Kannada Fans Over Controversial Comments

Rashmika Mandanna Kannada controversy

Rashmika Mandanna, known as the National Crush, is currently busy with multiple projects, including the highly anticipated Chavaa. The film, starring Vicky Kaushal and directed by Laxman Utekar, tells the story of Shambhaji Maharaj, the son of the famous warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film, which is set to release on Valentine's Day, is expected to be a hit.

However, comments made by Rashmika during the film's promotions have angered Kannada fans. She mentioned, "I come from Hyderabad," and expressed gratitude for the love she receives from the Mumbai audience. This has upset Kannada people, who feel she has forgotten her roots in Virajpet, her hometown. Many are questioning why Rashmika downplays her connection to the Kannada industry.

Rashmika made her film debut in the Kannada industry with Kirik Party alongside Rakshit Shetty. The two were in a relationship during the film's production but later broke up. She then shifted to Tollywood, gaining fame with films like Chalo, Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade, Sarileru Neekevvaru, Bheeshma, and Pushpa 1.
