RRR Featured in Oscars New 'Stunt Design' Category Announcement

The Oscars, considered the most prestigious awards in the film industry, have now introduced a new category. The Academy has officially announced that from 2027, awards will be given in the "Stunt Design" category. Speaking about this, Academy officials said, “Since the beginning of cinema, stunt design has been an integral part of filmmaking. We are proud to honor creative artists innovatively through this new category.” This will be officially included in the 100th Academy Awards, and many in the film industry have welcomed this decision.

As part of announcing this new category, the Academy released a special poster featuring the image of RRR. It stood proudly alongside Hollywood films, showing how RRR has made its mark. The Oscars highlighted the Stunt Design category using posters from three films: Everything Everywhere All At Once, RRR, and Mission Impossible. Telugu audiences are thrilled, calling it a proud moment for Indian cinema. As known, RRR had already won the Oscar for Best Original Song for "Naatu Naatu."

Director Rajamouli expressed his happiness about the new Oscar category. He said, “A 100-year wait has finally paid off. Starting from films releasing in 2027, Oscars will also be given in the Stunt Design category. Thank you to the Academy for making this happen.” He shared that he was filled with joy seeing RRR featured in the official announcement poster.
