Saif Ali Khan Knife Attack: Charge Sheet Filed Against Bangladeshi Accused Shariful Islam

Saif Ali Khan: In the assault case involving Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, the Bandra police have filed a charge sheet against the accused. The police identified the accused as Shariful Islam and found crucial evidence against him. The incident occurred in January this year when a man attacked Saif at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. A 1,000-page charge sheet has been submitted, including forensic lab reports. The charge sheet mentions knife fragments found from Saif's body and fingerprint evidence of the accused’s left hand collected during the investigation.

Shariful was arrested for allegedly breaking into Saif Ali Khan's house in Bandra in January and attacking him with a knife. The knife piece stuck near Saif’s spine and another part of the knife recovered from the crime scene matched the weapon seized from the accused. This crucial match was reported to the court by the police as strong evidence.

The incident took place on the night of January 16 when Saif was stabbed inside his own home. His family rushed him to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent surgery and later recovered. The attacker tried entering his son’s room, which led to Saif confronting him. A clash followed, and the attacker stabbed Saif before fleeing. At the time, his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and their children were also present in the house, located on the 4th floor of a 12-story building in Bandra West. Saif sustained injuries to his chest and spine. Police identified the accused as Shariful, a Bangladeshi national who had illegally entered India and had stayed in various places in Kolkata before reaching Mumbai.
