Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire Re-Release: Advance Bookings

Salaar: Part 1 Ceasefire features an impressive cast, with Prabhas in the lead role alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and Sriya Reddy. Set in the fictional dystopian city-state of Khansaar, where monarchy still rules, the story revolves around the deep friendship between Deva, the exiled prince of Khansaar, played by Prabhas, and Varadha, the current prince, portrayed by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The plot follows Varadha as he faces a coup orchestrated by his father’s ministers and relatives, forcing him to seek help from his friend Deva. Together, they join forces to ensure Varadha’s rightful claim as the undisputed ruler of Khansaar. Interestingly, the film’s storyline takes inspiration from director Prashanth Neel’s debut movie, Ugramm (2014), and serves as the first installment of a two-part series.

Salaar was officially announced in December 2020, with the title later revised to Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire in July 2023. Principal photography began in January 2021 and continued for nearly three years, with filming taking place in various locations, including Telangana, Italy, and Budapest. However, the production faced several challenges, including the pandemic, reshoots, and VFX delays, leading to multiple postponements before wrapping up in late 2023.
