A stampede at Sandhya Theatre during the Pushpa 2 premiere led to a woman's death and her son's injury, prompting the Chikkadapally police to issue a show-cause notice to the theatre for safety viola

Sandhya Theatre has been hit with another shock after facing numerous issues during the release of Pushpa 2 premieres. On December 5th, the much-anticipated Pushpa 2 movie was released. However, a day earlier, the film was screened as a premiere in several single-screen theatres and multiplexes in Hyderabad. Sandhya Theatre was among them, and the event saw fans rushing to the theatre to meet Allu Arjun, who attended the premiere along with his family and heroine Rashmika. The crowd's excitement led to a stampede when fans surged forward to meet Allu Arjun.
In the chaos, a woman named Revathi tragically lost her life, while her son, Sri Teja, was severely injured and is currently receiving treatment at KIMS Hospital. Following the incident, the Chikkadapally police issued a show-cause notice to Sandhya Theatre, questioning why its license should not be revoked due to the death caused by the stampede. The police have warned that if the theatre does not provide an explanation within a week, its license could be revoked. This issue is now a hot topic, as people are eager to see how Sandhya Theatre will respond.
The police have issued the show-cause notice, asking why the cinematograph license should not be revoked following the incident that led to a woman's death. They have given Sandhya Theatre ten days to provide an explanation. The police have identified several lapses in the management of the Sandhya 70MM theatre. The Sandhya 70MM and Sandhya 35MM theatres are located in the same premises, with entry and exit points on the same side. Together, these theatres have a combined seating capacity of around 2,520, but there are no proper signboards indicating entry and exit. The management had set up flexes outside the theatre, allowing the crowd to gather. Additionally, the theatre's basic facilities were not adequate. Despite knowing about Allu Arjun's visit, the theatre management failed to plan the entry and exit properly. They even allowed Allu Arjun and his private security inside the theatre. The police found that the theatre did not have a proper system to check tickets and allowed unauthorized entry, resulting in overcrowding.
