Sarathkumar's film The Smile Man has been given a release date of December 27. The movie stars Sarathkumar as a police officer suffering from Alzheimer's, who is assigned the task of tracking down a copycat killer. The killer leaves victims in unusual locations such as under a bridge, in a field, and on top of a tree, with their mouths mutilated and stitched to resemble a smile. The film is directed by Syam and Praveen, based on a screenplay by Kamala Alchemis.

Earlier this year, the makers released a poster that hinted at a possible dual role for Sarathkumar. In an earlier interview, Syam mentioned, "The Smile Man is a crime thriller featuring Sarath sir in the role of a retired police officer with early signs of Alzheimer's. With a serial killer on the loose, the character must solve the case before his memory completely fades."

The film’s cast includes Sija Rose, Ineya, George Maryan, Suresh Menon, Kumar Natarajan, and Aazhiya. The technical team comprises filmmaker Vikram Mohan, composer Gavaskar Avinash, and editor San Lokesh. The film is produced by Salil Das, Anish Haridasan, and Anandan T.
