Sekhar Kammula's Godavari Set for 4K Re-Release Date Fix

The subtle romantic drama Godavari, which was released in 2006, became a modern-day classic film among Telugu audiences. The Sekhar Kammula directorial is set to be re-released in 4K on March 1 in theaters.

Godavari stars Kamilinee Mukherjee and Sumanth Akkineni in lead roles. The film revolves around Sita (Kamilinee Mukherjee), who boards a river cruise ship traveling from Rajamundry to Bhadrachalam. There, she meets Sriram (Sumanth), whom she falls for. The film explores themes like class division, gender politics, and a grounded romance set against the backdrop of the Godavari River. The film received unanimous critical acclaim for its grounded characters and modern sensibilities.

The music of Godavari, composed by KM Radha Krishnan, became a blockbuster during its release. The songs became a timeless tribute to romance. The classic film was produced by GV Raju under SSC Arts. Vijay C. Kumar handled the cinematography, and Marthand K. Venkatesh edited the film.
