The subtle romantic drama Godavari, which was released in 2006, became a modern-day classic film among Telugu audiences. The Sekhar Kammula directorial is set to be re-released in 4K on March 1 in theaters.

Godavari stars Kamilinee Mukherjee and Sumanth Akkineni in lead roles. The film revolves around Sita (Kamilinee Mukherjee), who boards a river cruise ship traveling from Rajamundry to Bhadrachalam. There, she meets Sriram (Sumanth), whom she falls for. The film explores themes like class division, gender politics, and a grounded romance set against the backdrop of the Godavari River. The film received unanimous critical acclaim for its grounded characters and modern sensibilities.
