Despite the ongoing re-release craze in Tollywood, Chiranjeevi’s special birthday screening of Stalin couldn’t create much excitement. Originally hitting theatres in 2006 under AR Murugadoss’ direction, the film featured Chiranjeevi alongside Trisha and Prakash Raj in key roles. 

Despite its past success and social-political message, the 2025 re-release drew little audience, with fewer than 5,000 tickets sold on day one.

Fans feel the film seems outdated, story flaws are now noticeable, and popular scenes already circulate online. Unlike other re-releases like Indra or Khaidi No. 150, Stalin failed to connect emotionally, limiting its box-office buzz despite Chiranjeevi’s 70th birthday celebrations.
