Tragic Loss on 'Hit 3' Set: Cinematographer KR Krishna Passes Away During Shoot in Jammu and Kashmir

The shooting of the movie 'Hit 3' is currently taking place with hero Nani in the lead role, under the direction of renowned filmmaker Sailesh Kolanu. After successful collaborations in the previous installments of the 'Hit' series with Vishwak Sen in 'Hit' and Adivi Sesh in 'Hit 2,' Sailesh is now working on the third part with Nani. However, tragedy struck when young cinematographer KR Krishna (30), who was part of the movie's team, suddenly fell ill during the shoot in Jammu and Kashmir. She was rushed to the hospital, where she passed away after receiving treatment. It is believed that she died due to an infection in her chest.

KR Krishna, who was also a member of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), was the daughter of Krishna Kodambram Rajan and Girija, hailing from Ernakulam. Her father owns the Guinness Studios in Perumbavoor and Kurumpadam. For 'Hit 3,' Malayalam director and cinematographer Sanu Varghese is working as the Director of Photography (DOP), and Krishna was assisting him. The film crew had initially planned shoots in Rajasthan and Arunachal Pradesh, and later moved to Jammu and Kashmir for the next schedule. Unfortunately, Krishna fell severely ill during the shoot, and she was admitted to a hospital on the 23rd of the month due to a fever. When her condition worsened, she was transferred to the Government Medical College in Srinagar.

While being treated in the hospital, Krishna briefly recovered and even spoke to her family members. However, her situation took a sudden turn for the worse, and she suffered a heart attack while being transferred from the intensive care unit to a regular ward, which led to her death. Krishna had worked as an assistant cinematographer in several Malayalam films. At the age of 20, she began studying cinematography and first worked as an assistant cinematographer in the film 'Manoharam' starring Vineeth Srinivasan. She also worked as a freelance photographer. Recently, she was involved in the Malayalam movie 'Ponmani,' directed by Basil Joseph. Krishna’s body will be flown to Kochi via Nedumbassery Airport and the last rites will be held on Wednesday.
