Uday Bhanu Makes a Comeback as Villain in Barbaric, Set for a New Chapter in Tollywood

Once considered a top anchor, Uday Bhanu made a significant mark on Telugu television, alongside other stars like Suma, Jhansi, and Anasuya. While Suma continues to shine as a star anchor, Jhansi has retired from anchoring and settled into acting, making occasional appearances in films like Salaar in a powerful role. Anasuya, who took a break from anchoring, has since become a full-time actor after successful films like Kshanam, Rangasthalam, and Pushpa 2. Meanwhile, Uday Bhanu, once a prominent TV anchor, is slowly returning to the scene, hosting a few shows and rebuilding her image.

In fact, Uday Bhanu started her career as an actress. She made her acting debut with the movie Erra Sainya directed by R. Narayanamurthy. Later, she played the role of Sita in a popular Hindi mythological serial. Uday Bhanu also acted as a heroine in several Kannada films, but none of these projects brought her significant success. She appeared in special songs in films like Leader and Julayi and played the heroine in the 2013 film Madhumathi. Afterward, she distanced herself from both television and acting for a while.

In 2024, Uday Bhanu made a comeback in the film Pratinidhi 2 with Nara Rohith. Recently, it has been reported that she has given the green signal to play a powerful villain role in an upcoming movie. This film, titled Barbaric, features Sathyaraj in the lead and is directed by Mohan Shreevats. Uday Bhanu is set to appear as the villain in this project. The film, which is expected to have thrilling elements and intense twists similar to Vijay Sethupathi's Maharaja Style, is creating a buzz. If the movie succeeds, it might open up commercial opportunities for Uday Bhanu, possibly even launching her as a character artist in Tollywood’s big productions.
