Mega Prince Varun Tej is gearing up for his most challenging role yet in the upcoming pan-Indian film Matka, directed by Karuna Kumar. Co-starring Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi, the film spans 24 years, from 1958 to 1982, tracing Varun Tej's character's journey from youth to old age. This period drama, set against a retro backdrop, is being made on a massive budget, with the final schedule currently taking place at Ramanaidu Film City, Hyderabad.

A viral photo from the sets shows Varun Tej in a mass avatar, with reports suggesting the action sequence will be a highlight of the film. Matka also features Naveen Chandra, Ajay Ghosh, and others, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music. The movie is produced by Dr. Vijender Reddy Thigala and Rajani Talluri under Vaira Entertainments and SRT Entertainments.
