Venkatesh's Drishyam 3 To Release In Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam Simultaneously
Venkatesh's Drishyam 3 is officially in the works with Jeethu Joseph returning as director. The film will release simultaneously in Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.
The Drishyam franchise has carved a niche in Indian thriller cinema. Mohanlal's original Malayalam film, directed by Jeethu Joseph, was a massive hit, followed by successful remakes in Telugu (Venkatesh), Hindi (Ajay Devgn), and Tamil (Kamal Haasan).
Drishyam 2, released during the COVID-19 lockdown on OTT platforms, received strong responses. However, fans felt a theatrical release would have amplified its success, especially after the Hindi version grossed over ₹300 crore in theatres. Many believe the Telugu and Malayalam versions missed a golden opportunity.
With Drishyam 3, the makers aim for a grand theatrical release, correcting past missteps and capitalizing on the franchise’s popularity.
