Vijay Deverakonda Denies Allegations of Promoting Betting Apps

Hyderabad police have filed a case against actor Vijay Deverakonda and several Tollywood celebrities over allegations of promoting betting apps. A complaint was lodged by Pramod Sharma from Miyapur, accusing them of misleading the youth. The police have registered cases against actors Rana Daggubati, Manchu Lakshmi, Vijay Deverakonda, Prakash Raj, Pranitha, Sreemukhi, Ritu Chaudhary, anchor Shyamala, Ananya Nagalla, and others.

In response to these allegations, Vijay Deverakonda’s team has issued an official statement refuting the claims. The statement clarified that Vijay has only endorsed legally approved skill-based gaming platforms. He has acted as a brand ambassador for online skill-based games permitted in certain regions. Before endorsing any brand, his team ensures that the company complies with all legal regulations.

The statement further highlighted that Vijay Deverakonda was a brand ambassador for 'A23,' a legally authorized gaming company. The Supreme Court has ruled multiple times that games like Rummy fall under skill-based gaming. His contract with A23 ended in 2023, and he currently has no association with the company. His team emphasized that he has never promoted any illegal gaming platform.
