What Happened to Your Masculinity?” Renu Desai Questions Selective Justice

Renu Desai Questions Masculinity and Selective Justice

Actress Renu Desai, former wife of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, has once again sparked debate with her strong views on social justice. After a long break from films, Renu is gradually returning to the industry while remaining deeply involved in social causes, especially animal welfare.

Known for her work through an NGO for voiceless animals, Renu has consistently spoken out against cruelty. She has often faced criticism for her views but continues to stand firm, reportedly spending her own money to protect and care for animals.

Reacting to recent child deaths caused by dog attacks and the subsequent directive by the Supreme Court of India to relocate stray dogs to shelters, Renu expressed strong opposition. She said the ruling reflected hostility toward dogs and asserted that she would continue to speak out, even if it led to legal consequences.

Questioning selective outrage, Renu asked why animals are brutally killed when a child dies due to a dog bite, while similar anger is not seen in cases of child rape and murder. She questioned where society’s masculinity goes in such situations and stressed that every child’s life holds equal value.

She further pointed to ignored issues like domestic violence, alcohol abuse, hunger-related deaths, and fatal road accidents, arguing that society shows courage in killing dogs but avoids confronting deeper human problems. Her remarks, emphasizing individual accountability rather than collective blame, have now gone viral on social media.
