Why Prakash Raj Is Unhappy With South Stars Praising ‘Dhurandhar 2’

Prakash Raj reacts to South stars praising Dhurandhar 2

Actor Prakash Raj has sparked a debate with his recent remarks on South Indian film stars who publicly praised the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He suggested that some of these endorsements may have been made out of obligation rather than genuine appreciation.

The Ranveer Singh-starrer, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been receiving significant attention worldwide. Despite its runtime, the film has reportedly engaged audiences and garnered positive responses from several members of the film fraternity. However, reactions have not been unanimously favorable.

Actress and Kannada politician Ramya (Divya Spandana) openly criticized the film, stating that watching it was a “waste of time and money.” She shared a detailed post on social media expressing her dissatisfaction, adding to the ongoing discussion surrounding the film.

Several prominent Tollywood actors, including Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, and Vijay Deverakonda, watched Dhurandhar: The Revenge and praised the film and its team. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also made notable remarks, comparing the film’s scale to multiple classics.

However, Prakash Raj appeared unconvinced by such praise. Responding to a question from a social media user, he hinted that similar “obligations” might be influencing responses within the South Indian film industry as well.

The discussion also highlighted the absence of reactions from major Bollywood actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Hrithik Roshan. Addressing this, Prakash Raj remarked that he prefers to stay away from such debates, even as he questioned the nature of public endorsements.

Currently, social media remains divided, with two clear groups emerging — supporters who praise Dhurandhar 2 and critics who continue to question its reception.
