YouTuber Akash Sagar Faces Legal Action for Chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' at Meghalaya Church

Recently, several YouTubers and Instagram influencers have been uploading inappropriate content on social media to gain views and likes. Just a few days ago, a person on the outer ring road of Hyderabad spread currency notes on the ground, claiming he had thrown money in the trees and encouraged people to pick it up if they found it. The video went viral, and the police filed a case against the individual for his actions. Similar videos are frequently seen online.

In this context, YouTuber Akash Sagar has created controversy by hurting Christian sentiments. Akash Sagar, a Hindi YouTuber with a significant following on both YouTube and Instagram, is known for posting adult content and has built a strong following. Recently, during a trip to Meghalaya, he did something inappropriate that has now become highly controversial.

During his trip to Meghalaya, Akash visited the Epiphany Church in Mawlinngang, East Khasi Hills district, and while there, he sang the song "Jai Siya Ram" from the movie "Adipurush" and raised slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" in front of everyone. He created a video of this incident and uploaded it on social media, which went viral. This event occurred on December 20, and the Meghalaya government reacted strongly. The police filed a case against Akash for entering the church, forcefully chanting "Jai Shri Ram," and hurting the religious sentiments of the Christian worshippers. Social activists in Shillong have stated that Akash intentionally did this to create religious conflicts and insult the beliefs of Christians. Meanwhile, Meghalaya's Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma condemned the act and ordered actions to be taken against Akash.
