Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a divorce settlement after over eight years of legal battles, confirmed Jolie's lawyer. The couple, who were married for 12 years and have six children, filed for divorce in 2016 following allegations of abuse by Pitt. While they were declared legally single in 2019, the division of assets and child custody matters were still pending resolution.

A private judge initially facilitated an equal custody arrangement, but Jolie later filed to have the judge removed due to a conflict of interest, a request that was granted by an appeals court, leading to a restart of the process.
