Dave Bautista Reflects on His Departure from MCU as Drax the Destroyer

Dave Bautista Drax the Destroyer

Dave Bautista has opened up about his departure from his role as Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, expressing that he feels he never got the closure he needed. Though he has moved on from the character, Bautista misses the camaraderie with his castmates, including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and others, who were integral to the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He shared his feelings in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, noting that his final days on set were rushed due to his next project, and he never got to properly say goodbye or attend the premiere of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'.

In a 2023 interview, Bautista mentioned he wanted to explore more dramatic roles rather than being defined by Drax. Despite fans' curiosity about a potential fourth Guardians film, director James Gunn has confirmed that there are no plans for one.
