House of the Dragon' Season 2 Finale Leaked Before Release

House of the Dragon' Season 2

House of the Dragon: Fans of 'House of the Dragon' are eagerly awaiting the season 2 finale, which is scheduled to air this Monday. However, the episode has unfortunately leaked online days ahead of its official release on JioCinema. HBO has since addressed the situation with an official statement.

On Wednesday, Westerosies' X handle announced, “The season finale of HouseOfTheDragon is titled ‘The Queen Who Never Was.' Sadly, the episode has leaked online. Please avoid Twitter and related tags until it airs on Sunday to avoid major spoilers.”

The title was later corrected to ‘The Queen Who Ever Was.' On August 1, HBO released a statement regarding the leak.

The network said, 'We are aware that clips from the ‘House of the Dragon' season finale have appeared on social media. These clips were posted following an accidental release from an international third-party distributor. HBO is diligently tracking and taking down these clips from the internet. Fans can catch the entire episode this Sunday night on HBO and Max.

Set two hundred years before the events of 'Game of Thrones', 'House of the Dragon' follows the Targaryen family's struggle for the Iron Throne in Westeros. The network has already greenlit a third season. Season 2 delves into the brink of a bloody civil war between King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, each leading different factions within the family.

This season features eight episodes, down from the ten episodes in the first season, with each episode lasting around an hour. Although viewership dropped by 22% compared to last year's premiere, which drew 10 million viewers, the show still attracted 7.8 million viewers on Sunday. This figure represents the largest single-day audience ever for Max, HBO's streaming service.
