Mumbai, Maharashtra: Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor recently opened up about a deeply disturbing experience from her teenage years, highlighting the growing concerns around digital misuse and deepfake technology.

During a podcast interaction, the actress revealed that when she was around 15 years old, her images were morphed and uploaded onto an obscene website without her consent. She described the incident as emotionally distressing, recalling how she first learned about it through her classmates.

“I was under immense pressure and didn’t know how to react at that moment. It was extremely disturbing,” she said.

Janhvi further stated that the experience made her realise the lack of ethical boundaries on social media platforms. She also expressed ongoing concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence, noting that similar issues continue to affect her even today.

The actress pointed out that some platforms and unofficial sources have used AI-generated images of her as if they were real, which has impacted her professional and personal life. “It affects my work-life balance. Sometimes I want to speak out strongly, but I feel I don’t have a voice and end up holding back,” she added.

Her remarks have once again brought attention to the urgent need for stricter digital regulations and awareness regarding deepfake technology and online privacy.
