Tollywood star Mahesh Babu is collaborating with director SS Rajamouli on an eagerly awaited project, tentatively titled SSMB29. Currently in the pre-production phase, the film is reportedly set to be released in two parts. While an official confirmation is pending, sources close to the project have shared that Mahesh will begin shooting in January 2025, with the film's script already finalized.

With a massive budget estimated between Rs 900-1000 crores, SSMB29 is expected to be a global feature, introducing audiences to a completely new world. The movie's screenplay, developed over two years by Rajamouli’s father, Vijayendra Prasad, is said to involve Mahesh in a role potentially inspired by Lord Hanuman from Hindu mythology. Though the full cast remains undisclosed, there are rumors about international talent joining the project.

On the work front, Mahesh was last seen in Guntur Kaaram, which did not perform well at the box office despite a star-studded ensemble. He also voiced Mufasa in the Telugu version of The Lion King.
