Prasanth Varma Unveils First Female Superhero 'Mahakali'

This film will be produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under RKD Studios, with RK Duggal presenting it. Varma will provide the story and screenplay.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, Mahakali will blend spiritual and mythical elements with contemporary issues, showcasing India's first female superhero. The film will feature a dark-skinned actress in a bold portrayal of Goddess Kali, challenging beauty standards in Indian cinema.

Set against Bengal's rich cultural backdrop, the film will capture the region's traditions with stunning visuals and an emotionally engaging narrative. The announcement poster depicts a girl touching her head to a tiger's, amidst a scene of chaos with huts, fleeing people, and a Ferris wheel in flames. The title, presented in a diamond-shaped Bengali font, suggests grandeur in production.
