This film marks the first collaboration between Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth in 33 years, with their previous films including Hum, Andhaa Kaanoon, and Geraftaar. Earlier, Amitabh expressed his gratitude on social media, stating, "I am honored and privileged to be with the Thala the Great Rajinikanth again. He hasn't changed at all. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan also features Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, and VJ Rakshan.
