Fisher-Becker’s husband, Tony, announced the news on Facebook, saying, "Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband. I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon, Simon passed away." He also mentioned that he would keep the account open for some time but was unsure if he would post again. His manager, Barry, in a statement to Metro, expressed grief, stating that he not only lost a client but also a close friend of 15 years. He recalled the excitement of offering Fisher-Becker the role of Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who and praised him for being a writer, public speaker, and a kind-hearted person.

Fisher-Becker was widely recognized for his role as the Hufflepuff ghost, Fat Friar, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He gained significant fame for playing Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who and also had a brief role in Les Misérables during the Master of the House sequence.
