Taapsee Pannu Kangana Ranaut: Actor Taapsee Pannu has addressed her widely discussed equation with fellow actor and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut, stating that there was never an actual “fight” between them. Speaking during a recent podcast interaction, Taapsee clarified that she has never made any adverse remarks against Kangana and expressed openness to cordial relations in the future.

During her appearance on journalist Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast to promote her upcoming film Assi, Taapsee dismissed long-standing narratives of rivalry. She emphasized that a disagreement requires mutual participation and maintained that she never engaged in any such confrontation.

Referring to past remarks made by Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel, who had once described her as a “cheap copy,” Taapsee said she did not respond publicly at the time. She noted that if comparisons are drawn on the basis of talent, she considers it no insult. According to her, none of her past statements targeted Kangana personally.

Both Taapsee and Kangana are regarded as self-made actors who entered the Hindi film industry without industry backing. When asked whether the alleged rivalry may have indirectly benefited others within the industry, Taapsee responded that while she cannot identify specific beneficiaries, it is possible that someone gained from the situation. However, she reiterated that from her side, there was never any animosity.

Taapsee is currently seen in Assi, a courtroom drama directed by Anubhav Sinha. The film also features Kani Kusruti in a leading role. The project has received positive reviews from critics, with particular appreciation directed toward the performances of the lead actors.

Kangana was last seen in the 2025 political drama Emergency, in which she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which she also directed, received a mixed to underwhelming response at the box office. She is next expected to appear in Bharatha Bhagya Vidhata, another political thriller scheduled for release later this year.
