Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise will receive his first Oscar at the 2025 Governors' Awards in Los Angeles on November 16, the Academy announced. The award recognizes his remarkable impact on global cinema and his unwavering advocacy for the stunt community’s recognition in filmmaking.

Cruise, previously nominated four times without a win, will be recognized alongside Dolly Parton, Debbie Allen, and Vin Thomas. He also holds a Guinness World Record for the most burning parachute jumps in Mission: Impossible, The Final Reclining.
