Ranveer Singh threat case
Mumbai, Maharashtra, India: Popular Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received an extortion threat allegedly linked to the Bishnoi gang. According to media reports, a voice message demanding Rs 10 crore was sent to the actor’s manager via WhatsApp.
Sources indicate that an individual identified as Harry Boxer, believed to be associated with the Bishnoi gang, sent the voice note from a United States-based phone number. The message allegedly demanded a payment of Rs 10 crore from the actor.
The Mumbai Crime Branch has initiated preliminary inquiries and is said to be coordinating with US authorities to trace the origin of the number used to send the threat. However, officials have not yet registered a formal case in connection with the incident.
The development comes shortly after unidentified individuals opened fire outside the residence of filmmaker Rohit Shetty in Mumbai. Police have since taken the accused into custody. Investigators revealed that members of the Bishnoi gang allegedly hired Deepak Sharma, Sonu Kumar, and Sunny Kumar for Rs 3 lakh, with an advance payment of Rs 50,000.
Authorities stated that a country-made pistol was used in the firing incident. The case has also drawn attention due to alleged links with Shubham Lonkar, who is reportedly associated with the Bishnoi gang and is an accused in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique.
Police continue to investigate possible connections between the recent incidents and the extortion threat issued to Ranveer Singh.
