Bougainvillea OTT Release:

Amal Neerad's directed mystery thriller, Bougainvillea, will soon be available on streaming services following its theatrical debut. Fahadh Faasil, Jyothirmayi, and Kunchacko Boban starred in Bougainvillea, which premiered to a mixed response. The Malayalam film is based on Lajo Jose's novel Ruthinte Lokam and revolves around a family caught up in an investigation into the disappearance of a tourist.

When And Where To Watch Bougainvillea:

According to an official announcement from SonyLIV, Bougainvillea will be available on the streaming service from December 13, 2024, onwards. SonyLIV has secured the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film, with the announcement stating: "Royce is calm, composed…and maybe deceptive."Stream Bougainvillea from 13th December only on SonyLIV."

About Bougainvillea:

The story follows Dr. Royce (Kunchacko Boban) and his wife, Reethu (Jyothirmayi), who live in the hills near Idukki. Reethu suffered both retrograde and anterograde amnesia following a car accident eight years ago. Since then, she has developed a fascination with painting bougainvillea flowers. Her husband Royce and their maid, Rema (Srinu), help her manage daily life, as she struggles with memory lapses.

Reethu relies on handwritten notes, audio recordings, and photographs to make sense of her life and distinguish reality from her hallucinations. ACP David Koshy enters their lives while investigating a young girl's disappearance. What is Reethu's real story? Why is she being questioned in this case?

While many anticipated an intense mystery thriller, some viewers were disappointed by its predictability. Nevertheless, Jyothirmayi and the other lead actors received widespread acclaim for their performances.
