Freedom At Midnight On OTT Date Announced
"Freedom At Midnight," an upcoming Hindi historical drama web series, has generated significant buzz on social media due to its compelling storyline. The series will shed light on the pivotal decisions made by key political leaders during India's fight for independence, including the moment when Mahatma Gandhi urged Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to offer leadership to Muhammad Ali Jinnah to avert the partition.
The show, based on the book Freedom At Midnight by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, delves into the political, religious, and socio-political landscape of the era. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the series features Sidhant Gupta as Jawaharlal Nehru, Chirag Vohra as Mahatma Gandhi, Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Luke McGibney as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Cordelia Bugeja will portray Lady Edwina Mountbatten, while Arif Zakaria will play the role of Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the series.
Freedom At Midnight will be available for streaming on SonyLIV starting November 15, 2024, and consists of seven episodes. Director Nikkhil Advani shared the trailer on Instagram, calling it "The History You May Not Know, The History You Should Know," offering viewers a powerful glimpse into India's path to independence.
