Inspector Zende on OTT

Manoj Bajpayee takes on the role of Inspector Madhukar Zende in Inspector Zende, portraying the relentless officer behind the capture of notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj. Jim Sarbh plays the antagonist Carl Bhojraj.

The film streams on Netflix from September 5.

Story & Setting

• Set in 1970s–80s Mumbai, the movie blends suspense and humour while showcasing old-school policing before modern forensics.

Cast

• Joining Bajpayee and Sarbh, the cast includes Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak, Bhalchandra Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Bharat Savale, Nitin Bhajan, and Onkar Raut.  Helmed by director Chinmay Mandlekar, the film is brought to life under the production of Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut.

Real Inspiration

• The story is based on how Inspector Zende tracked and arrested Charles Sobhraj, a mission that even earned praise from PM Rajiv Gandhi.
