Shivarajkumar’s Bharathi Ranagal, the prequel to the 2017 hit Mufti, is heading to OTT after completing 25 days at the box office. Directed by Nathan, the film, which delves into the origin story of Shivarajkumar's character, a ruthless crime lord, is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video on December 25.

Though Zee Network initially showed interest in acquiring both TV and digital rights, it has been confirmed that Zee secured only the TV rights, while the digital streaming rights were acquired by Amazon Prime Video.

The film follows the journey of Bhairathi Ranagal from his childhood in Ronapura, where his attempts to bring justice lead to violence and his eventual transformation into a crime lord. The film features Rahul Bose as the antagonist and stars Chaya Singh, Madhu Guruswamy, and Rukmini Vasanth among others.

Bharathi Ranagal also coincided with Shivarajkumar's health scare, with the actor set to undergo surgery in the US on December 24.
