A Malayalam thriller, Jailer, will finally stream on Manorama Max from April 4, after a year and a half of delay due to a lack of OTT platforms. Released in theaters in August 2023, the film flopped despite positive reviews for its story and Dhyan Srinivasan's performance. Directed by Sakkira Madathil, the film is based on the real-life story of a jailer in 1950s Kerala who faces challenges rehabilitating prisoners convicted of murder.

Coincidentally, Jailer shares its title with Rajinikanth's blockbuster film, which grossed Rs. 650 crore worldwide. While both films were released around the same time, the Malayalam Jailer failed at the box office, leading to a legal battle over the title, which was later settled outside of court. The film will now be available to stream on Manorama Max, starting April 4.
