Sumathi Valavu, which grossed over ₹20 crore worldwide, is set for its OTT premiere on ZEE5. Director Vishnu described it as a tale rooted in Kerala’s folklore, blending myth, memory, and mystery for today’s audience.

Arjun called the project special for its mix of supernatural intrigue and emotions, while Malavika said it offered her a chance to explore suspense within Kerala’s cultural backdrop.

Critic Vivek Santhosh noted the film begins as an eerie folk tale but slips into predictable family drama. Despite this, the makers have confirmed a sequel is in the works.
