Champion movie: Roshan’s period action drama Champion has locked its OTT release following its theatrical run in December 2025. The film will begin streaming on Netflix from January 29, giving audiences a chance to revisit the historical action narrative from the comfort of their homes.

Directed by Pradeep Advaitam, Champion features Anaswara Rajan, Avantika, and Hyper Adi in key supporting roles. The film also gained attention for its music, particularly the song Gira Gira Gingiragire, which emerged as one of the popular tracks after the movie’s release.

Set against the backdrop of pre-Independence India, the story unfolds in 1947, when the princely state of Hyderabad remained under the oppressive rule of the Nizam. Villages across Telangana suffered under the brutal atrocities of the Razakars, while a few, including Byronpally, stood up in resistance, striving to ignite the spirit of freedom among the people.

Amid this turmoil, Michael C. Williams (Roshan), an Anglo-Indian footballer from Secunderabad, earns an opportunity to play for Manchester Football Club in England. However, due to his father’s background, he is legally barred from leaving the country. Determined to pursue his dream, Michael plans to take an illegal route to England within 20 days.

Fate, however, leads him to Byronpally, where he becomes deeply involved in the villagers’ struggle against the Razakars. His confrontation with Babu Deshmukh (Santosh Pratap), an enforcer working under Qasim Razvi, forms the crux of the narrative, blending personal conflict with a larger fight for justice and freedom.
