Superstar Rajinikanth's latest film Coolie was a box office hit but fell short commercially. In 15 days, it grossed over ₹500 crore, still below the ₹600 crore needed to break even.

Ticket sales have dropped, especially in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states, with most revenue now coming from Hindi-speaking regions. The theatrical run is expected to end around ₹530–540 crore.

Coolie will soon stream on Amazon Prime, which acquired digital rights for around ₹120 crore. After a four-week theatrical run, the film is likely to be released on OTT by September 12 in all regional languages.

While the theatrical response was mixed, it remains to be seen if the film will perform better on OTT.

Notable cast includes Akkineni Nagarjuna as the villain, with Upendra and Aamir Khan in special roles, though Soubin Sahir’s character remains the standout.
